Matthew 4:1-4 "Next Jesus was taken into the wild by the Spirit for the Test. The devil was ready to give it. Jesus prepared for the test by fasting for forty days and forty nights. That left him, of course, in a state of extreme hunger, which the devil took advantage of in the first test: "Since you are God's Son, speak the word that will turn these stones into loaves of bread." Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy: "It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God's mouth." " (MSG)
In the journey of total obedience to God, it is crucial that I must be prepared for battle at ALL times because the devil is out to question my identity at ALL times. I must know and remember who I am at ALL times so that the devil cannot have room to question my identity and succeed. He will always bring "if's" my way to question my identity such as, "If you are God's daughter, why is this happening to you?" The devil will challenge my identity In terms of my physical need like material things, food, my need for love and acceptance.
However, as a child of God in this part of eternity, I am in the wilderness which is my journey through life on my way to the promised land which is heaven. If I do not recognize this, I will grumble and rebel, and seek to prove the wrong things because the devil has succeeded in pushing me to. I must also have a knowledge of the WORD to be able to overcome when the devil seeks to question my identity.
Whenever I am in doubt, the will of the devil is clear, however, I must do the opposite because that will be obedience to God's will. If the devil wants me to cry over a situation,I must laugh to prove him wrong.
I MUST bear in mind that the road of obedience is one person on his own. My mother, friends and family are on their separate paths of obedience.
My life is a journey, with A LOT of distractions on the way. It is a test of my obedience to God who is leading me and when I make up my mind to obey Him to the fullest, He gives me grace and takes away my fear; taking me to the end of the journey.
There is beauty in total obedience to God. The whole host of heaven stand in ovation for just one person who chooses to obey Gods will to the fullest.
Obedience is not private. The whole heavens are with me in my journey waiting to celebrate me.
When I dare to make the choice to stand and damn the consequences, grace will be released to me from heaven.
The famous hymn says, "When we walk with the Lord, in the light of His Word, what a glory He sheds on our way. When we do His good will, He abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there's no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey."
Am I ready to dare to make the choice to obey God till the end?
