A song I love singing says, "Jesus you loved me, when nobody cared you loved me. When nobody cared at all..." As I sang it out loud today, I realized the weighty truth in what I was singing. It dawned on me that I was nobody until Jesus came into my life and that He loved me so much He gave His life just for me. And what did I see? I saw that I am priceless and precious to Him and that He loves me, and that despite the fact that I mess up with reckless abandon, His grace is sufficient for me. He gives me fresh supply of grace every morning; more than enough to satisfy my voracious consumption of it.
Another song I love says, "Amazing love, how can it be? That you my King would die for me?..." Its amazing the type of love the Father has for me. Therefore, I must strive to live like that. Ephesians 5:1&2 says, "Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He did not love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that." (MSG)
In order to love like Jesus did, I must depend on His divine grace to enable me. I must keep the grace of God in sharp view everyday of my life, never letting it out of my sight.
I must remember.... "His grace is sufficient...."
